Illustration
An illustration exploratory centered around my favorite albums that have in some way had a significant influence on my life. Each illustration was drawn in Procreate and inspired by a few lines of imaginative lyrics from a song off of the album that I keep returning to. This represents a select few illustrations of the ever-growing and evolving project.
The goal of the project is an exercise in both speed and technique. While I am exploring new styles of illustrations, I am also trying to focus on the big idea and capture the essence of the lyrics and music. It is important to embrace the imperfections along the way and use it as a tool for learning and expanding my versatility in illustration.

Out on the water's where you're gonna find me / All alone with with my mind, headed for a bounty

I'm an oyster pearls locked up in a shell / You better bring that diving bell

"Paper Trails" by DARKSIDE | Psychic (2013)
Where are you when I need you? / Where did you go?
How can I find you when I need to? / Where should I go?
Paper trail on a mountain / And far away
A big trail on a mountain / You'll find a way
The fire outside / It's burning up place
But you're inside / Burning up ahead

"Your Protector" by Fleet Foxes | Fleet Foxes (2008)
She left a week to roam / Your protector's coming home
Keep your secrets with you / Safe from the outside
You walk along the stream / Your head caught in a waking dream
Your protector's coming home, coming home
As you lay to die beside me, baby / On the morning that you came
Would you wait for me?

"Angela" by Bill Callahan | Shepherd in a Sheepskin Vest (2019)
Angela, Angela
Like motel curtains, we never really met
And cutting our losses is our best bet
And I'll owe you the rest

"Carolina Drama" by The Raconteurs | Consolers of the Lonely (2008)
It was a junk-house in South Carolina / Held a boy the age of ten
Along with his older brother Billy / And a mother and her boyfriend
Who was a triple loser with some blue tattoos / That were given to him when he was young
And a drunk temper that was easy to lose / And thank god he didn't own a gun

"Careers in Combat" by Parquet Courts | Light Up Gold (2013)
There are no more summer lifeguard jobs / There are no more art museums to guard
The lab is out of white lab coats / Cause there are no more slides and microscopes
But there are still careers in combat, my son / There are still careers in combat, my son
There are no more roles on TV shows / There are no road-cone dispensing jobs
There are no spots left for park ranger / Cause there are no bears left to save you from
But there are still careers in combat, my son / There are still careers in combat, my son

"Crystalized" by The xx | xx (2009)
You've applied the pressure / To have me crystallized
And you've got the faith / That I could bring paradise
I'll forgive and forget / Before I'm paralyzed
Do I have to keep up the pace / To keep you satisfied

"No Spell" by Thee Oh Sees | Floating Coffin (2013)
Horror in the night / Easier, take a breath and sigh
Shadows taking fight / Easily flies right out of sight
